As hard as it is to fill your time while we navigate through a worldwide pandemic, picture a massive snowstorm on TOP of a worldwide pandemic. What is there to do then, when you can’t even flaunt your favorite new bedazzled mask at the local grocery store?
Well, if you are me, you can sit down and write this blog, but you’re not, so I’d love to share some other tips and tricks to help all of my fellow East Coasters fill your time as the snow continues to fall and we are stuck inside.
For all of the bookworms out there, I suggest diving into a new book with a cup of hot chocolate, next to a warm fireplace (if conditions allow). In the last few days of this winter wonderland, I read Colleen Hoover’s Verity, along with one of my favorite podcaster’s new autobiography, The Crazy Beautiful Life of an Instagram Thirst Monster by Claudia Oshry.
I also recommend finding a way to move your body, even if it is just 20 minutes of your day. Check in with yourself! We don’t realize how active our body is even in our everyday lives, from our commute to work, to errands, taking care of ourselves and our families. I’ve been taking online Yoga Sculpt classes with Madsculpt. (Check her out, Yogi readers; you will not regret it.) That’s right, yoga right from my basement entertainment center. Find your Zen, friends!
Lastly, and possibly the most fun tip I have, try new recipes and create warmth inside with snow day favorites like soups and chili. My sister and I love to find new recipes and love spending quality time with each other. I know we are all used to it at this point, but being home can be just as fulfilling as anything else, especially when you take time for yourself and your loved ones. Stay warm!

Santa Fe, New Mexico, is a small town that’s big on historic landmarks, buildings, parks and Western lore. While most of the properties within historic buildings are upscale, Bishop’s Lodge is now a member of Auberge Resorts Collection thanks to a painstaking restoration, luxury appointments, commitment to personal service and wide range of exclusive activities.
