This past weekend I took a short road trip to Pittsburgh, Pennsylvania, to visit my sister at school. In times like these, when it isn’t as easy to take weekend trips or fly as often as we’d like, you have to be creative in outings and adventures.

A fairly easy 4.6-hour drive got us to the University of Pittsburgh for a weekend of quality time and new experiences. We have been to campus plenty of times, so we thought outside of the box and headed to Seven Springs Mountain Resort for some snow tubing! The weather was actually pretty warm this weekend, so the snow was mainly artificial, with the exception of whatever was left from Pennsylvania’s very snowy winter, but that didn’t stop us from having a blast.

It was my family’s first time snow tubing, and Seven Springs Mountain Resort did a great job of keeping everyone socially distanced while having a great time. We went down the slope in all sorts of combinations and enjoyed the thrill as the sun went down in northern Pennsylvania.

I have enjoyed this time where normal activities might be closed or unavailable due to limited capacity because it forces you to try new things and potentially reach outside of your comfort zone. I wonder what we will do next!
