Philadelphia’s most recent Restaurant Week escaped me. I knew about the two-week event weeks prior, but somehow it snuck up on me and I missed taking advantage of $35 tasting menus at some of Philadelphia’s best eateries. Fortunately, two more local restaurant weeks will occur in the next month or so. I am determined to experience both.
Philadelphia’s East Passyunk neighborhood is hosting its first ever Restaurant Week. From Feb. 24 through March 2, patrons can dine at numerous restaurants for lunch or dinner with $15, $25 and $35 3-course options. Topping Philadelphia Magazine’s 50 Best Restaurants list for 2012, Stateside is among the $35 options and a great opportunity to enjoy a hot spot. Other tempting offerings include Da Vinci Ristorante, Le Virtu and Fond.
New Hope, Pa., and Lambertville, N.J., will host the fourth annual New Hope & Lambertville Restaurant Week March 17–22. Fine dining and casual dining prix fixe menus cost $29.95 and $19.95, respectively. More than two dozen restaurants will participate. While I am less familiar with the Lambertville options, some of my favorite New Hope restaurants are among the fine dining choices. I recommend Marsha Brown or Martine’s River House, or both!
