On my recent trip to Hong Kong I stayed at the newly opened boutique hotel, Mira Moon. Located in Wan Chai, the hotel is surrounded by skyscrapers and gives a real feel for living in this bustling city. The 91-room hotel is very compact, but when walking into the room, you do not feel it.

My New Moon room was 400 square feet and designed in white, black and red. There is an almost Alice in Wonderland feel to the room, with a black rabbit lamp on the desk and oversized rugs with intricate design; however, the design does not take away the from the functional space. There are electrical outlets on either side of the bed, at the desk and plenty in the bathroom to ensure easy charge with any electronics. The king-size bed was very comfortable and faced the 46-inch flat-screen TV, from which you can watch movies, play music or order dine-in meals. The room also provided a bed-side iPad to look up news, local weather, order off the menu or use Bluetooth to connect your personal music.

Other in-room bonuses include the complimentary WiFi with no limit to gadgets, free non-alcoholic beverages from the mini-bar and great lighting throughout the room and bathroom. The bathroom is large with gleaming white tiles, a full stand-alone bathtub that offers an exclusive view of the city, and also his and her bath products that smell divine.

The Mira Moon has one restaurant, Giant. I was not impressed with the food, but it was nice to stay in the hotel for breakfast when in a rush before meetings. The 24-hour gym has a few high-tech cardio machines; however, due to the size of the room, it fills up quickly. 

Overall, I had a wonderful stay and look forward to coming again. I also encourage you to try The Mira Hong Kong, its sister property, on the Kowloon side.
