Greetings from the beautiful French Riviera! After a brief layover in Zurich, Switzerland, my fiancé and I found ourselves in the enchanting city of Nice, France.
Our adventure began as soon as we touched down. We rented a car and headed to our luxurious abode, the JW Marriott in Cannes. Without wasting a moment, we checked in, dropped our luggage and made a beeline for the beach clubs across the street on the famous Promenade de la Croisette.

The Croisette, known for its upscale dining, swanky hotels, designer boutiques and the iconic Palais des Festivals et des Congrès (home to the Cannes Film Festival) provided us with the perfect backdrop for our first evening. We sipped on refreshing drinks, indulged in some window shopping and soaked in the Mediterranean vibes.
For dinner, we had a reservation at La Petite Maison Cannes, a French-Mediterranean gem renowned for its ambiance, interior design, yummy cuisine and live music. It was a culinary experience so nice, we went back twice during our stay!
Our plans for the next day were initially sun-soaked beach escapades, but Mother Nature had different plans. Clouds and rain greeted us in the morning, prompting us to change course and explore Saint-Paul-de-Vence, a picturesque medieval village perched atop a hill. Pablo Picasso was a frequent visitor in the 1960s, and today it remains an artistic haven with numerous galleries showcasing breathtaking works. We visited the famous La Colombe d’Or hotel, a treasure trove of art left behind by legends like Picasso and Chagall.
The following day brought more overcast skies which led us on a road trip to the legendary St.-Tropez. Lunch at Le Club 55, a stroll around the marina admiring the mega yachts and some leisurely window shopping filled our day.
But it was our last day that truly stole the show. The sun finally made its triumphant appearance, and we couldn’t resist the allure of La Guérite, a beach club on Île Sainte-Marguerite, a small island just a short boat ride from Cannes. The vibes were absolutely electric, with a late lunch transitioning seamlessly into a lively beachside party. La Guérite also offers daybeds right by the sea, making it an absolute must-visit on your French Riviera itinerary.
As the summer adventures come to a close, I’m already looking forward to cozy fall getaways filled with foliage, hot cider and more memorable experiences. Until next time!
