Greetings from 32,000 feet over the midwest! I, along with several colleagues, am on a United Airlines flight heading to Los Angeles for the 2014 GT Tested Reader Survey awards gala. This will be my fifth trip to the City of Angels in the last 18 months, and once again, bad weather awaits. I seem to bring rain with me from the East Coast, as this will be the third time the city, normally sunny and dry, will be wet during my stay. The West Coast was pounded with storms over the past few days, and while it looks like we are avoiding the worst, it may still rain during the evenings. Just my luck! Regardless, I am looking forward to attending my second GT Tested Reader Survey awards gala and welcoming our partners and friends in the industry. They are being recognized for their achievements after thousands of Global Traveler readers voted them the best in the industry. There are many familiar names on the winners list. Voting for the 2015 awards will begin this week online and in the January issue.
