Cape May, N.J., is one of the best vacation spots in New Jersey. It has beautiful beaches, great food, unique little stores and some very fun tours. Most importantly, the beaches are free, unlike most coastal towns along the Jersey Shore. Cape May is also known as one of the most haunted towns in the Garden State. It has been a top vacation spot since the 18th century and served as a crucial location for the United States during World War II. With all of this rich history, many paranormal advocates claim Cape May is oozing with ghosts. I have been to Cape May numerous times and never experienced any “paranormal activity.” I don’t necessarily believe in ghosts, but I find the subject interesting. If they do exist, I would love to see one. Recently, I went on one of Cape May’s ghost tour trolleys. The tour operator was very animated and told some fascinating stories. It was not necessarily scary, but some of the stories were quite disturbing. Needless to say, the best part was just driving around Cape May breathing in the fresh ocean air. The experience was entertaining, but it was probably better suited for younger minds. Hopefully, next time I’ll see a ghost. — Matt McNeal, account executive
