There’s less than one month left to bid on AMAZING travel items in Global Traveler’s online auction. As I’m sure many of you have read, the GT team had an enjoyable and successful night at The Leukemia & Lymphoma Society’s Red & White Ball a few weekends ago at The Westin Philadelphia. Collectively the event raised $500,000 for the fight against blood cancers, in part due to efforts of individuals here at Global Traveler and the company as a whole. But our work for LLS is far from over, and our auction, online through May 1, directly benefits the organization as well. It’s easier than ever before to participate in our auction this year, powered by the GiveSmart platform. It’s intuitive and communicative, and all the bidding can be done via texting on your mobile device. Never has charity been so easy or so fun! We have close to 40 items up for grabs, including hotel stays, business-class airline tickets, luggage, jewelry and more. Currently, our bids are valued at more than $55,000 — help us beat last year’s fundraising and raise more than $115,000 in 2015. The bidding is already heating up on the following popular items: Two round-trip business-class tickets to Asia on Delta Air Lines Two round-trip business-class tickets on Asiana Airlines 1,000,000 IHG Rewards Club points A stay at The Langham, Chicago A stay at The InterContinental Hotel, Hong Kong A stay at Mandarin Oriental, Las Vegas A stay at The Montage Beverly Hills A stay at The Peninsula Beverly Hills Two round-trip business-class tickets on United Airlines Year after year, we hear from past auction winners exclaiming about their experiences with the airlines and hotels that are generous enough to donate to our auction. The award-winning travel providers must be experienced, and there’s no better time than now — bid on these great items (which usually go for well under market value!), take a trip of a lifetime and help save a life in the process. We thank you in advance for your support! — Kim Krol, managing editor
