Every year the FXExpress Publications, Inc. team in our Yardley office bring out their competitive side for a very intense afternoon of pumpkin carving.

This year we kicked festivities off with a candy corn scavenger hunt. My colleague Emily hid candy corn around the office, and whoever found the most won. We searched and searched, and finally we needed some hints for a couple candy corns that were hidden very well. In the end, I found the most and was the champion!

Next, we moved on to the main event, the carving. We split into teams and looked for our designs and started the carving process. My team consisted of me and my colleagues Fiona and Yasser. We chose a witch’s hat with some stars. Yasser hollowed out our pumpkin, and then Fiona and I took care of the design. It was tough because when we were drawing our template, it seemed like it might look more like a Santa hat, but as we were carving it, it started to look like a witch’s hat.

Once we were done, we lined them up and took a picture to send out to the rest of our colleagues to vote on their favorite. Everyone’s pumpkins turned out amazing! One team went for the classic spooky pumpkin face, one went for a funny pumpkin face and then there was ours. In the end, the funny face pumpkin got the most votes and took home the pumpkin carving crown.

We ended the celebration with delicious snacks, drinks and desserts. Can’t wait for next year!
