It’s officially baseball season! As you may already know, I am a big Philadelphia sports fan, so the start of baseball season is an exciting time for me. I love the Philadelphia Phillies and am excited to see where this season takes us.
The Phillies didn’t make many big moves during the offseason, so the roster is pretty similar to last season with the exception of one new key player. The one big move the team made during the offseason was acquiring Max Kepler from the Minnesota Twins. Kepler is a big hitter and will fill a hole in the outfield. I’m looking forward to watching him play and to see what he brings to the team.
This season is off to a good start. Over the weekend the Phillies won the series against the Dodgers, last season’s World Series Champions. The games were exciting, and the Phillies were right in there with a very good team.
Unfortunately, I haven’t been to a game yet, but it’s still early, so I have plenty of time. Last season I was able to make it to a bunch of games, so I am hoping to get to a good amount this season — hopefully some post-season games, too. The Phillies know the city of Philadelphia has big expectations for this season since we are coming off the exciting championship season from the Eagles. The team has some fire under their belts after seeing the celebration on Broad Street and are hoping to experience it themselves later this year.
