I had been job searching for months since my college graduation and was elated to find a job posting for a job at a magazine in Yardley, PA. The commute into New York for a 15-minute job interview was getting old and a job at a magazine near my town was a great surprise. I found my way without any problems and was nervous as I made my way up the stairs of World Headquarters for the first time. I immediately felt more at ease in this interview than any before. I met Fran and Dick and chatted about the magazine, Bucks County and more. Within a few days, I was gearing up for my first day, unsure of what the future would hold. Honestly, without sounding sappy, I never could have guessed the future would be so bright! It has far exceeded my expectations, especially for a first job! I have learned so much about the publishing industry and creating a magazine; I have traveled around the world and stayed in  hotels and flown on airlines I never dreamed of. I am constantly given new opportunities to work on different projects. Most people my age are getting coffee and filing. I’m sipping international coffee in exotic destinations and flying. My job involves public relations, writing, event planning and so much more — it is like a little bit of everything I always wanted to do, rolled into one job. I often take a step back and can’t believe how lucky I am. I need to pinch myself! Above everything else, I have met some great people. I look forward to working with my colleagues and getting the chance for everyone to get together. We always have fun together and we create a really great magazine every month. The stories we all could tell . . . . I am so happy to celebrate our fifth anniversary and lucky to be a part of it all! **Our thoughts are with those affected by the plane crash near Buffalo last night.
