I have written a bit about Las Vegas. Before I leave the topic, I have to mention the food. One great thing about Vegas is that the city has everything from fast food to fine dining all within a short stretch on the strip. The options seem endless. I took advantage of some great buffet deals. Harrah’s had a deal where you could get 24 hours’ worth of buffets at all of their properties for about $40. Ordinarily, I am not into quantity over quality, but in this case, I got both! I did manage to tear myself away from the buffets to try some other Las Vegas eateries. Kerry’s Gourmet Burgers had the best turkey burger I have ever eaten. It was so tasty, I hated to finish it. Aside from the burgers, they serve outstanding milkshakes in several flavors. I just wish they would open a place in Chicago. I wanted sushi, so the group joined me at Sushi Roku. We ordered many types of sushi and rolls. All were excellent, but the favorites of the group were the jumbo crab sushi, the sweet shrimp sushi and the spicy rock shrimp with asparagus roll. They also featured plenty of steaks and other entrées for the non-sushi fans. This was a wonderful dining experience. Café Gelato is on my list on every trip to Las Vegas. I love their gelato. It’s creamy, refreshing and bursting with flavor. My choice was pistachio, but I had samples of raspberry, lemon and banana; and all were great. We had a lot of great food, but these were the highlights. You hear so much about the shows and the casinos, the food is often overlooked.
