As I mentioned in my last blog, I recently traveled to Italy with my family. We spent the majority of our trip in Lake Como, with several days of family fun and exploring the region ahead of the wedding.

We stayed at Grand Hotel Tremezzo for the Lake Como portion of our trip. The gorgeous property looks like it belongs in a Wes Anderson film, with bright orange and white umbrellas along the water and pools, and charming balconies overlooking the lake.

As soon as we arrived, we made our way to the hotel’s lakefront restaurant, Da Giacomo Al Lago, while waiting for our rooms. A perfect spot for a meal or aperitivo, we enjoyed lunch with a view. We shared a selection of fried seafood, tomato salad, seafood panzanella and roasted John Dory fish. The fabulous meal, combined with an Aperol Spritz, was the perfect start to our time in Lake Como. We visited the hotel’s other dining outlets throughout our stay, experiencing everything from complimentary breakfast each morning and room service to poolside pizza and a private dinner for the entire family.

The hotel offers delightful amenities for young guests. Upon check-in, young guests receive a hotel passport. After getting stamps at four of the hotel’s dining outlets, kids show the stamped passport at checkout for a special gift. Throughout our stay the staff was friendly and accommodating of all the little guests in our family.

There are three pools on site, two outdoor and one indoor. Guests may also visit the tennis courts or walking trails around the property. Instead, I opted for a massage. After busy travel days and plenty of walking during sightseeing, I appreciated the time to relax and recharge.

Our trip overall was wonderful, due in large part to our stay at Grand Hotel Tremezzo!
