I find it interesting my favorite aircraft, the Boeing 747, might be around a little longer. It seems the cargo version is well-suited to be the big boy of aviation since Airbus decided not to make a cargo version of the Airbus A380. Although Boeing has cut the yearly manufacturing of 747-8s due to a slower-than-expected cargo market, this aircraft will remain around a little longer than expected. As far as passenger aircraft, there are not that many airlines still flying the 747, and there are even more phasing out the aircraft for more fuel-efficient aircraft like the 777. On another note, our prayers go out to the passengers and family of AirAsia flight QZ8501.
