This morning, my sister Jean and her husband, Scott, left for Las Vegas.  Last night, however, they decided to stay at the Hyatt in Rosemont, Ill., to cut down on their morning commute to O’Hare International Airport (ORD).  They spent the afternoon in Rosemont and checked out the Rivers Casino.  For dinner and to watch the Bears game, they joined me at Village Inn, about 10 minutes away.

This past weekend, my other sister Nancy and her husband Dave went to Aurora, Ill.  They spent a little time at the Hollywood Casino, ate dinner at Two Brothers Brewing Co. and enjoyed Grease at the Paramount Theatre.

I have written about all of those places in the past.  That is what made this so cool for me.

Clearly my sisters do not need me to be their entertainment guide, yet both did something that I had covered in previous blogs.  This isn’t the first time someone I knew took advice from a GT blog, and I am not talking about just my GT blogs.

The printed Global Traveler is truly a great magazine, but I believe these blogs add a lot to the magazine.  I have gotten many ideas for food, travel and other experiences from reading the blogs of my colleagues.

Global Traveler and the GT blog create a very effective combo.  I would love to hear stories from others about getting ideas from these blogs.
