I recently visited SoJo Spa Club in North Jersey for my cousin’s bachelorette party. The bride-to-be requested a spa day, and SoJo proved the perfect location. There were nine of us total, including the bride, with many coming from different locations in Pennsylvania and New Jersey.
We all arrived at 10 a.m. and went through the check-in process to access our pre-paid day passes. Spa treatments including massages, facials, body scrubs and more are available for an additional fee. The spa is a no-shoe facility, so once we passed through a security check, we were directed to a locker for our shoes. The wristband for the shoe locker was also used for the main locker room and to tap for any expenses incurred during our stay. Once we all changed into our bathing suits and complimentary robes, we set out to explore the facilities.
SoJo Spa Club offers something for everyone. To start, we visited some of the outdoor amenities, including multiple pools and an outdoor dry sauna. The weather that day was absolutely perfect, and we wanted to spend as much time outside as possible. We then made our way to the seventh floor, which features the popular infinity pool with views of New York City. After snapping some photos of the bride and her crew, we decided to grab lunch.
There is a seasonal outdoor grill located on the seventh floor with a small selection of sandwiches and a larger cafeteria-style dining area on the sixth floor. We split up to order, then met up to eat together at the outdoor tables on the seventh floor. I ordered a tuna poke bowl, both light and filling.
After lunch we split up again and explored some of the indoor amenities, including various saunas, a relaxation lounge and an ice room. I enjoyed all of the different indoor and outdoor facilities, though my favorites were the hydrotherapy pool and Himalayan salt room. While our day passes granted us access for the entire day, we all departed around 3 p.m. to get ready for the rest of the night.
Open year-round, SoJo Spa Club is a perfect option for a group or solo getaway, whether celebrating an occasion or simply wanting to relax.

It was known as the “Kai Tak heart attack” — the thrilling, terrifying final approach into Hong Kong’s Kai Tak Airport. Airliners were required to bank sharply at the last moment, dodging hills and apartment blocks to line up with a runway jutting out into Kowloon Bay. The airport is long gone, but international visitors are arriving at Kai Tak again, albeit more sedately. Their cruise ships dock smoothly at Kai Tak Cruise Terminal, a modern gateway designed by Sir Norman Foster.
