Last week I was in Macau, exploring all facets of the city, from its culture and history to its cuisine and modern-day attractions. I’ll report more on my trip in upcoming blogs, eFlyer reviews and magazine coverage, but I was so pleasantly surprised by an occurrence during my stay at The Mandarin Oriental, Macau, I wanted to share.
“Attention to detail” — that phrase would best describe the housekeeping staff at the 5-star property, where my stay was nothing short of perfect. I returned from a long day sightseeing to prepare for dinner. Out of the corner of my eye, I noticed something dangling from my book on the dresser. I went over to check out the gold fringe and noticed the housekeeper put a bookmark in my book. Styled like a fan, it was property-themed. The housekeeper must have noticed I was folding down the pages of my book at the corners and left me the bookmark.
Noticing the book and leaving a bookmark was an added touch that made me feel special after a long day.
