I had the pleasure of visiting The Westin New York Grand Central on Monday. The property opened in October after an extensive renovation and a reflagging (it was formerly a Helmsley property). 

The Westin New York Grand Central will be home to Global Traveler’s annual Wines on the Wing airline wine survey in May. The hotel offers ample meeting space and a ballroom, which is harder to find in New York City than one might think, with another planned to open later this year off the lobby. I look forward to our upcoming event and seeing even more of what the hotel has to offer.

I did have the chance to enjoy a late afternoon lunch with my colleagues at the hotel’s The LCL: Bar & Kitchen, a concept from nightlife company Gerber Group. In addition to seasonal menu offerings, the restaurant has an awesome array of cocktails. I didn’t get to take a taste, though! It was quiet, after the lunch hour, and peaceful as we enjoyed a simple lunch of a Cobb salad for me and Caesars for my coworkers. The rolls were crusty and warm, fresh from the oven. It was simple yet delicious, and I’d like to dine there again.

Aside from the brand-new look and name, The Westin New York Grand Central offers a great Midtown location and reliability. Check it out on your next visit to NYC!
