The most unique, most expensive hotel experience is set to become a reality in 2021 after years of planning. For $9.5 million, Orion Span will host you on a 12-day trip to Aurora Station, 200 miles above the Earth’s surface.

Once at Aurora Station, guests will experience zero gravity and the ability to float around what is being called “the first luxury hotel in space.” The hotel offers stunning views through the many windows. Because the hotel will orbit the Earth every 90 minutes, guests will see an average 16 sunrises and sunsets every day and have the ability to take part in various experiments, including growing their own food, which they can take home.

While in space, guests will be able to keep in touch with their Earthling friends via fast wireless internet access. You’ll be able to send pictures and even go live to share your fun with the world.

All potential guests must complete mandatory training, a process that takes place over a three-month period. Upon completion of the course, guests will receive an Orion Span Astronaut Certification, which may be used on other space travel opportunities.

The high price tag will limit the potential guest list, but the mere possibility of such an excursion is fascinating. This first step will lead to other, longer stays as well as shorter, closer, less-expensive options. As out of this world as this is, it is really just another step in space exploration.
