There has been a tremendous amount of anticipation in regards to the American Airlines and US Airways merger. Airline mergers are extremely complex and tend to take a lot of time to fully transition. American Airlines, however, seems to be handling the process quite well. In fact, American will be investing $2 billion in customer improvements. One of the ways they will be investing in customer improvements is through fleet renewals. American already placed orders for 42 new Boeing 787 Dreamliners and expects to receive an average of two new aircraft each week in 2015. American could be on pace to have one of the youngest fleets in the world. I have flown American/US Airways a few times this year, and I already have seen a difference. I’m truly excited to see what else American has in store for its customers. Hopefully I’ll have a chance to fly on one of the new 787s this year. Cunard recently announced a stunning refurbishment of Queen Mary 2; the ship prepares to enter dry dock on March 31, 2027, as the flagship of the Cunard fleet and the only ship in the world offering regularly scheduled trans-Atlantic crossings between Southampton and New York. The refurbishment will introduce new Grill Suites, an elevated wellness offering, enhanced retail spaces and refreshed guest areas, while preserving the ship’s Art Deco identity.
