I am looking forward to Global Traveler’s 10th anniversary, which will be February 2014. To celebrate, we are gearing up with a series of articles on our favorite categories over the past 10 years. Sports already ran in April, and May will be Best Chefs by Lisa Matte. I have the honor of selecting my favorite golf course I played over the past 10 years of writing my golf column. I would like to say my game improved; but like all golfers who are burdened with a full-time job, it is difficult to play at any consistent level.
This will not be a listing of the “Best Courses” by some distant golf magazine full of scratch golfers but the courses where I had the most enjoyment with clients and friends. The big question is, which will be the Number One course played? The Old Course in Scotland, Trump National in Los Angeles, Weihai in China, Gleneagles in Scotland, or will it be one of the grande dames of Philadelphia? We shall see!
