Test your distilling skills during a private lesson led by gin-making experts at The Menhaden, a luxury boutique hotel in Greenport, New York. Available Monday–Thursday through Dec. 27, the experience is offered in partnership with Matchbook Distilling Company at the company’s Long Island-based Apothecary.

It all begins with a welcome cocktail and tour through the distillery, and leads to a hands-on Midweek Maker session involving guided blending. Participants will create their own 750-milliliter bottle of gin to bring home, along with instructions on the finer points of how to “nose” and taste spirits.

Back at the hotel, guests will enjoy a 1 p.m. late check-out and a 375-milliliter bottle of The Menhaden’s own signature blend as a welcome gift, created exclusively for the property by Matchbook Distilling Company.

Known for luxury and an array of custom experiences, The Menhaden has a galley on each floor available to guests 24 hours a day, stocked with coffee, ice cream and other treats. Freshly baked cookies are offered as a tasty nightcap, and the rooftop deck provides expansive views of the harbor.

Settle in by a fire pit to roast s’mores or sip a glass of wine, or relax in one of 16 sumptuous guestrooms where spa-like bathrooms are fitted with amenities by Grown Alchemist.
