Located in Chobe National Park, the newly redesigned Belmond Savute Elephant Lodge is one of the brand’s three safari experiences in Botswana. It reopened last month with a new look and 12 tented guestrooms, a spa, a lounge, a bar, a pool and a wildlife observatory. The observatory gives guests an unmatched view of lions, cheetahs, hyenas, antelope, elephants and more.

The tented oasis is situated along the Savute Channel as an exploratory base for guests seeking the dramatic surroundings and wildlife habitats. Muza Lab designed the new interiors with rich textures and colors. The modern lounge and bar connects to an open deck for views of the plains. Furnishings include curved, textured leather touches and locally sourced materials. Guestrooms include four-poster beds and writing desks, where bright pops of color contrast the natural color palette.

“I have a huge love and respect for nature and the wilderness; it’s something we as humans need to cherish and protect — so being able to design a project in the Savute is a real passion; honor and huge responsibility. I aim my design to be sensitive to the surroundings but to also create spaces where people can really cherish nature and each other and take home memories without leaving scars on nature. I work on creating spaces that feel innovative; of the time and place; yet layered and relaxing to be in,” said Inge Moore, Muza Lab.

Room rates begin at $970 per night and include two daily game drives, dining, drinks, laundry, park fees and more.
