A new survey from British Airways identifies the largest obstacles standing in baby boomers’ ways when it comes to travel after retirement. The survey was conducted by interviewing 2,000 U.S. baby boomers born between 1946 and 1961.
Results indicate primarily females in this age range view cost as an inhibition for global travel, with 63 percent admitting they’ve never owned a passport because they feel they’ll never be able to afford international travel. These female responders are also in the majority in saying not traveling throughout their life is one of their biggest regrets. In contrast, more male than female responders named working too much as one of their biggest regrets.
The survey also asked a few lighthearted questions, such as who baby boomers would like to sit next to during a long-haul flight. The top five celebrities chosen were Donald Trump, Harrison Ford, Meryl Streep, Hillary Clinton and Liam Neeson.
