Avianca works toward a more inclusive and accessible flight experience for its travelers with the launch of a new website dedicated to supporting passengers with disabilities and their companions. The website will offer clear, detailed and personalized information so all travelers enjoy an accessible, comfortable flight experience.

“Accessibility is a priority for Avianca. Our new website is a significant step toward eliminating barriers and making travel easier for passengers with disabilities. By offering detailed and personalized information, we empower them to plan their journeys with greater ease and confidence,” said Michael Swiatek, chief accessibility officer, Abra Group.

The website is the result of a strategic redesign to put user needs as the central focus and offer a more intuitive and flexible experience from beginning, with trip planning, to end, with arrival at the destination. Highlights of the site include separate guidance for medical and accessibility topics that will allow passengers to find supplies quickly; and a disability section that provides specific information for visual, auditory, physical, intellectual and psychosocial disabilities, as well as tailored recommendations for each stage of the journey.

Avianca has taken more than 32 actions to increase accessibility in aviation. The airline has improved signage in 38 airplanes and created a service guide in airport teams.
