Originally opened in 1926 as a safe haven for women travelers, Hotel Figueroa in downtown Los Angeles pays homage to the city’s rich history.

Following a two-year, $30 million renovation, the newly modernized Spanish Colonial-style resort is scheduled to open in late fall.

The 268-room, Mediterranean-inspired resort features a large lobby social area; an outdoor pool; two restaurants, including Spanish concept restaurant Breva by chef Casey Lane, and Veranda, a swank al fresco dining venue; and five bars, including the reservations-only Bar Alta, and Rick’s, which will serve a variety of coastal cocktails.

The resort’s Mediterranean flair works its way not only into the cuisine and cocktails, but the hotel’s design, décor and overall atmosphere. Enjoy tapas and Spanish wine in the chic lobby bar; unwind at the pool, surrounded by a garden oasis of palms, eucalyptus and fig trees; and rest easy in the serene guestrooms, thoughtfully designed in relaxing tones.

The resort’s Parador Suite is the largest, boasting a separate dining room area, a wet bar, living room, terrace and a stairway for private access to the bar and pool below. The 33 Writer Series suites speak to downtown LA’s creative scene with raw-edge leather headboards, vintage-style case goods and local art.

At the heart of the city’s thriving cultural center, Hotel Figueroa sits across the street from L.A. Live, the Staples Center and the Los Angeles Convention Center, in close proximity to Los Angeles Performing Arts Center, The Museum of Contemporary Art and The Broad Museum.
