American Airlines teamed with the James Beard Foundation as the organization’s official airline partner via a multiyear deal. The partnership benefits passengers by elevating the American Airlines in-flight and lounge dining experiences.
Starting Dec. 3, guests at American Airlines Flagship Lounges enjoy new menu items created by celebrity chef Sarah Grueneberg, Monteverde Restaurant & Pastificio. Starting Dec. 11, passengers traveling in Flagship First or Flagship Business classes between New York (JFK) and Los Angeles (LAX) or San Francisco (SFO), or between the United States and South America or Europe, also enjoy new menu items.
New menu items across American Airlines’ dining services include grilled Roman-style artichokes, mushroom Bolognese, dark chocolate budino, Tuscan kale salad, artichoke ravioli and spinach and ricotta pasta.
“The ability to provide Flagship travelers with a small taste of Monteverde is an extraordinary opportunity, and I’m truly humbled to be the first chef chosen to bring this collaboration between the James Beard Foundation and American Airlines to life,” said Chef Grueneberg. “The dishes created channel the classic Italian approach to cooking by focusing on simplicity, great flavors and quality ingredients that we believe will resonate deeply with guests.”
