American Airlines is rolling out testing for Google Assistant’s Interpreter Mode.
American Airlines became the first airline to start testing Google Assistant’s interpretation functionality last week. The mode offers real-time translation of more than 29 languages.
American Airlines began testing the technology at Admirals Club lounges at Los Angeles International Airport. The functionality will make it easier for American customer service representatives to offer comprehensive and personalized attention to passengers who might not speak English.
The mode can translate nearly 30 languages, including Arabic, French, German, Japanese, Russian, Spanish and Vietnamese.
“Incorporating technology like the Google Assistant’s interpreter mode will help us break down barriers, provide a worry-free travel experience and make travel more accessible to all,” said Maya Leibman, CIO, American Airlines.
Google announced the partnership with American Airlines at CES 2020 in Las Vegas.
