American Airlines announced new routes debuting in 2019.
Starting May 3, the airline adds a sixth destination in Cuba, with daily service from Miami (MIA) to Santiago de Cuba (SCU). Starting June 6, service begins from Dallas (DFW) to Durango International Airport (DGO) in Mexico. It is the only American carrier serving both destinations.
Additional routes begin June 8 with new flights between New York City (LGA) and Aruba (AUA); and Charlotte (CLT) and Santo Domingo (SDQ). Both of these year-round flights offer Saturday frequency.
New seasonal service between June and August begins next year from Dallas, with new flights to Santo Domingo, San Pedro Sula (SAP) and Tegucigalpa (TGU).
All routes on sale now.
“We have had a robust schedule of flights between the U.S. and the Mexico, Caribbean and Latin America region for years from our DFW and MIA hubs,” said Vasu Raja, vice president of network and schedule planning, American Airlines. “As we work to deliver the best network, these new routes reinforce our commitment to the region and provide new options for customers.”
