AmaWaterways officially launched its new Stateroom Upgrade Program, allowing travelers to enhance their river cruise experience by upgrading to a higher category stateroom. Guests who already reserved a river cruise can participate in an online auction system to request and bid for stateroom upgrades. The program offers cruisers the chance to name their ideal price for an upgrade on select sailings.

Eligible guests receive an email about 85 days prior to sailing with available upgrade options, which they can browse and bid on until seven days prior to departure. Placing multiple bids for different categories increases the chances of an upgrade, but only one bid will be accepted.

The Stateroom Upgrade Program is a no-risk bidding process. When a bid is accepted guests and travel advisors are notified via email and guests are charged. If no bid is accepted, the original stateroom is retained without any added costs. Travel advisors receive 10 percent on accepted upgrades.
