Air Canada’s premium-economy class is a step above the rest. Available on all Boeing 777s and 787s, premium economy is the perfect option for passengers looking for a step up from economy without the price tag of business class.
Premium-economy class, available on Air Canada’s international network and now select North American routes, offers 21 seats. Travelers are offered priority boarding and baggage handling, more spacious overhead storage and an increased baggage allowance. Guests are also treated to a welcome beverage while settling into their seats.
The seats include extra seating space, 20 inches on 777-300s; 19.5 inches on 787-8s; and 18 inches on Airbus A330-300s. Compared to economy class, Economy Premium offers seven inches of greater seat recline and extra legroom with a 38-inch seat pitch and adjustable footrests.
The class offers similar entertainment options to business-class seats. The next-gen entertainment system features a personal touch-screen TV with more than 600 hours of entertainment with the latest movies and TV programs. The programming also offers a wide variety of kids programming and on select flights, passengers can text between seats. For those who prefer to use their own devices, each seat is equipped with a single-pin audio jack and a USB port.
International and select North American flights offer passengers the chance to choose from two hotel meals served in a china casserole, warm bread, a fresh salad and dessert. Hot breakfasts include fresh coffee, juice, pastry and yogurt. Passengers can also choose from a selection of wines, beer, sodas and other non-alcoholic beverages. A hot towel service completes the meal.
Other amenities include ambient lighting, personal amenity kits, blankets and pillows.
