Located in the Bowery on New York City’s Lower East Side, Ace Hotel’s newest property prepares to open this fall. Sister City Hotel will have a different look and feel from the nine other urban properties opened by the group.

The 200-room hotel is designed as a respite from the city, as opposed to its other properties with communal spaces inviting the city in. The building itself is a former Bowery Salvation Army Building. According to Ace Hotel partner and chief brand officer Kelly Sawdon, they are inspired by the philosophy of less, but better while focusing on the core needs of travelers — comfort, beauty and human connection.

The hotel will have a ground-floor restaurant in partnership with the group behind Morgenstern’s Finest Ice Cream, and a rooftop bar. The garden at the entrance of the hotel welcomes guests into the lobby and further emphasizes the property as an escape from the city.

Rooms will be on the smaller size, 162–262 square feet, and begin at a nightly rate of $259.
