Following the brand’s success in Europe, Marriott International introduced its AC Hotels by Marriott lifestyle brand in North America with the opening of AC Hotel New Orleans Bourbon. Located on Carondelet Street on the cusp of the French Quarter in the city’s historic Cotton Exchange building, the hotel includes 220 guestrooms boasting stunning views of the city. Facilities include AC Lounge, offering wines on tap and local craft beers; AC Library, providing a quiet space to linger and be inspired; AC Kitchen, serving breakfast items.

“With the continued rise of the millennial traveler we saw an opportunity to import this highly successful European brand from overseas with the hope of introducing a more experiential and design led, upper moderate tier lifestyle brand to the U.S.,” said Arne Sorenson, president and chief executive officer, Marriott International, at an event in New Orleans.

The AC Hotels by Marriott growing portfolio includes more than 75 hotels throughout Spain, Italy, Portugal and France. The brand plans to open in North American locations including Kansas City’s stylish Westport neighborhood and Miami Beach as well as more than 50 additional hotels within the next three years throughout the United States and Latin America.
