It’s been a busy summer for Philippine Airlines, with the launch of new flights, codeshare partners and customer services.
The Philippines flag carrier announced a new codeshare partnership with Royal Brunei Airlines this month, covering Manila (MNL)–Bandar Seri Begawan (BWN) and Cebu (CEB)–Bandar Seri Begawan routes. Bandar Seri Begawan is the capital and largest city of Brunei Darussalam.
The new codeshare partnership provides passengers from Brunei access to Philippine Airlines’ domestic and international network of flights, while also creating connectivity between Manila and Brunei as well as Cebu and Brunei.
Royal Brunei is Philippine Airlines’ 14th codeshare partner and the airline’s fourth codeshare partner in Southeast Asia.
In addition to these new destinations now accessible to Philippine Airlines customers, the airline introduces a non-stop Manila–Auckland (AKL) service Dec. 6.
The New Zealand service will operate three times per week on Wednesday, Thursday and Sunday, departing Manila at 23:15 and arriving in Auckland at 14:05 the next day. The return flights will depart Auckland Friday, Saturday and Tuesday at 12:30 and arrive in Manila at 05:45.
The airline will utilize its twin-aisle Airbus A340 aircraft on the new flights.
In addition to these new services, Philippine Airlines customers can now enjoy 30 minutes or 15 MB of free WiFi, and a 50 per cent discount on WiFi for the remainder of the flight.
“The free Wi-Fi offer was very well received when we first launched it for a limited period. We are very proud to be the first airline in Asia to offer free WiFi onboard for all passengers traveling on international flights that are equipped with the service,” said Jaime J. Bautista, president and COO, Philippine Airlines.
The free WiFi is part of the airline’s customer-centric initiatives in line with its goal of becoming a 5-star, full-service national carrier in the Philippines.
