Virginia Park Lodge
Set above Clew Bay in County Mayo, Killadangan House has graceful, period self-catering accommodations for groups up to 10, and an exceptional location near cafés, nightlife and nature. Nearby sites include The Great Western Greenway, Croagh Patrick and Blue Flag Beaches.
In County Cavan, Virginia Park Lodge is set within 100 acres of an 18th-century hunting estate once home to Lord and Lady Headfort, and also to actress Rosie Boote. The Lodge was the project of chef Richard Corrigan, known for his namesake Mayfair restaurant and the historic Bentley’s Oyster Bar & Grill in London’s Piccadilly. Besides sumptuous rooms in the lodge, there are 12 Woodland Huts for guests and plenty of scenery perfect for walking, fishing and boating.
Castle Grove Country House
Glenlo Abbey, located on a 138-acre estate bordering Lough Corrib in Galway, is a 5-star golf resort with plenty of natural Irish beauty. Dine at the award-winning Pullman Restaurant, nestled within two original carriages once part of the Orient Express.
In County Donegal, the Castle Grove Country House occupies a 250-acre estate. Built in 1695 on Lough Swilly, the elegant interior includes two drawing rooms with inviting, open fireplaces, a bar and a library. Antiques and sumptuous appointments in the guestrooms make for a memorable stay.
