A few weeks ago, I shared the details of my recent Lexus Drive Experience at Terranea Resort with Katie Skrzek, digital director. While it was nice to escape the resort for the afternoon, Terranea truly offers an escape in itself, and guests needn’t leave for an entire weekend.

Katie and I took advantage of that fact by enjoying a number of the resort’s on-site culinary outlets. Our weekend of relaxation began immediately upon check-in when we were greeted with welcome glasses of Prosecco, a theme we kept up throughout the weekend.

We enjoyed eight of the nine resort dining options, beginning with a seaside lunch at Nelson’s, also a popular spot for area locals for its California comfort cuisine. When our table wasn’t quite ready at fine-dining Mar’sel, we enjoyed a pre-dinner Prosecco before embarking on a culinary adventure that included a decadent lobster carbonara.

We dined at Catalina Kitchen just after its recent, gorgeous renovation and caught the first day of its brand-new brunch buffet which was, in a word, sumptuous. From the raw bar to the chef-driven stations, we didn’t know where to start. More Prosecco was enjoyed at the Lobby Bar & Lounge before our dinner at Bashi, where our shared plates included sushi, Brussels sprouts and shaking beef. After morning seaside yoga, we enjoyed the lighter breakfast options at Spa Café.

Over the course of our stay, we made a few quick trips to the on-site Sea Beans, where we became fans of the delicious homemade cookies.
