A new survey states passengers are happily switching preferred airlines for better WiFi. The study, conducted by Honeywell, reveals 75 percent of travelers will switch airlines to enjoy faster and more reliable in-flight WiFi connections. In fact, 20 percent already have. Overall, American travelers are becoming increasingly dissatisfied with in-flight WiFi, with only 22 percent reporting satisfaction with their recent experiences. Eighty-four percent want connectivity identical to what they pay for at home, with perfect audio- and video-streaming capabilities, and 90 percent expect it available anywhere in the world. “Passengers are serious about getting the best in-flight WiFi experience possible,” said Carl Esposito, vice president, marketing and product management, Honeywell Aerospace. “To avoid losing passengers and revenue, airlines need a connectivity service that is reliable all the time, no matter where they fly.” Millennials particularly are prone to booking flights based on WiFi availability. Compared to older generations, they’re also more likely to switch airlines to find fast and reliable connectivity.
