Air China expanded its reach into North America with the launch this week of non-stop service connecting Beijing (PEK) and Montreal (YUL). Dignitaries and top government officials, led by the Chinese ambassador to Canada His Excellency Luo Zhaohui and Montreal Mayor Denis Coderre, were in Montreal to welcome the inaugural flight from Beijing.
“The direct route between Montréal and Beijing, the very first scheduled transpacific direct link out of Montréal–Trudeau, is a reality at last,” said James Cherry, president and CEO, Aéroports de Montréal. “China has never been as close as it is today.”
Air China employs a state-of-the-art green technology, Boeing 777-300ER to service the route. The aircraft offers a three-cabin interior, ambient lighting and an enhanced entertainment system, including eight first-class luxury suites, 41 fully flat sleeper business-class seats and 259 economy seats with individual TV monitors and in-seat audio-video on demand.
