Essque Zalu Zanzibar is another one of the great properties found at the GT Select Hotels & Resorts portion of our website. This boutique property is located off the coast of Tanzania and right on the waters of the Indian Ocean. The property offers almost 50 suites and villas, all perfect for a tropical luxury getaway. Each is decorated in native artwork, with terraces and balconies that overlook expansive gardens and tranquil waters. The suites are just right for couples, while the villas are designed to accommodate 6–8 individuals and feature private pools and massage areas. Guests who choose to explore the property will find two restaurants and bars, Market Kitchen, The Jetty and Baobab Bar. Guests who can’t be bothered to leave their rooms can receive a visit from one of the staff mixologists, who will create a custom cocktail in-room. The property’s spa, the Retreat at Zalu, offers a range of organic Africology treatments that make use of indigenous plants and oils. The facilities include six treatment rooms, a shower room, sauna, steam room and two relaxation areas. The spa also offers children’s treatments, including short massages and facials.
