United Airlines introduced an enhanced meal service in premium cabins on regional fleets this week. Passengers flying first class on United Express flights longer than two hours and 20 minutes are offered a new breakfast menu, featuring fresh fruit served with Greek yogurt and breakfast bread; lunch and dinner including a choice of two entrées, such as a barbecued chicken sandwich or ginger- and garlic-marinated beef with pickled vegetable; and United’s signature dessert of triple chocolate chunk cookies. The new service is offered on larger Embraer E-170 and E-175 aircraft used on many flights out of Chicago (ORD), Houston (IAH) and San Francisco (SFO). Flights on Bombardier CRJ-7000 and Q-400 planes will provide the new first-class meal service starting in April.
