COMO Hotels and Resorts opened its second luxury property in the Maldives, the 66-room Maalifushi by COMO. The 20-acre secluded retreat and private island is COMO’s first property on the untouched Thaa atoll. Accommodations include a mix of overwater and garden guestrooms, offering seclusion and underwater experiences. Unique offerings include COMO Shambhala Retreat, featuring eight overwater treatment rooms, a yoga pavilion and a gym; an on-island dive center with guided diving excursions; and activities including dolphin cruises, fishing, snorkeling and sailing. Guests also have access to a small piece of land belonging to the resort that can be booked for castaway picnics and romantic private dinners. The hotel’s sister property, Cocoa Island by COMO, is located farther north in the South Malé Atoll.
