JetBlue is well on its way to adding 12 new slot pairs at Ronald Reagan National Airport. Pending final approval, the carrier will add a dozen new round-trip flights to its DCA roster, focusing on service to cities it does not currently serve from the Washington, D.C. airport. With its new slots, JetBlue will operate up to 30 round-trips flights per day at DCA.
“The JetBlue Experience is about serving the under-served with affordable, award-winning and non-stop service to places people want to visit, not through spokes in a wheel,” said Rob Land, senior vice president of government affairs and associate general counsel, JetBlue.
In addition to its bid for 12 new slot pairs, JetBlue and American Airlines have agreed to a permanent transfer to JetBlue of eight other DCA slot pairs owned by American, as required by the DOJ settlement conditions, that JetBlue has been operating on a temporary basis since 2010.
