Two of my friends and me recently took advantage of a Living Social deal for Yoga and Wine Tasting at Crossing Vineyards. Located in Washington Crossing, Pa., the winery and vineyard hosts private and public events year ’round.

Due to the threat of rain, the yoga portion of the day was set up under a tent among the grapes. I am admittedly not a yoga person, so I felt a little out of my element matching the poses. By the end of the session, I was more comfortable and relaxed — the beautiful surroundings certainly helped. Overall, it was a good workout.

After a short break, we moved to the tasting room, just beyond the tent. We sampled nine wines from their red, white and specialty varieties, some paired with cheese and chocolate truffles. My favorite pairing was Crossings’ Wild Berry wine with a chocolate truffle. Not normally a fan of sweet wines, the combination of the berry and chocolate flavors was surprisingly delicious. Before leaving, I purchased a bottle of Viognier to enjoy at home.
