Four Seasons Resort Tamarindo, in the Costalegre region of Mexico, invites travelers to explore a different Día de Muertos, one of Mexico’s most meaningful holidays. To celebrate, the property introduces its first-ever month-long celebration with a calendar of on-property cultural events.
Oct. 15–Nov. 15, guests can participate in a series of programming focused on the people and practices keeping Mexico’s cultural heritage alive.
Visiting Artisan Workshops
Participate in hands-on workshops led by Mexican makers and craftsmen to learn traditional techniques and the cultural stories behind the work. During Día de Muertos weekend, Guadalupe Candelario Castro of Suchitlán, Comala, a fourth-generation artisan, leads papelillo rojo mask-making workshops while teaching participants about the tradition closely connected to Danza de los Morenos.

Mexican Culinary Traditions
Chefs Osiel Solórzano and Abraham Serug of Casa Bacuuza bring their beloved approach to Mexican cuisine to Sal for a four-course dinner in honor of Día de Muertos. Their cooking is inspired by the culinary traditions of Oaxaca and Puebla, and highlights regional ingredients, ancestral techniques and delicious flavors part of Mexico’s gastronomic heritage. The menu is thoughtfully planned around the spirit of remembrance and invites guests to experience the stories, traditions and connections coming to life around the shared table.
A Night of Remembrance
