Review: L’Ermitage Beverly Hills

ARRIVAL/CHECK-IN: The 21st annual GT Tested Reader Survey awards event took place at L’Ermitage Beverly Hills. The hotel was also my home away from home for my two-night stay. This marked my 12th time traveling to California for the GT Tested awards; and while it was my first stay at L’Ermitage Beverly Hills, the trip always feels like a homecoming.

The hotel’s unassuming entrance blends in with the residences on the street. The doorman greeted me as I walked into the lobby. The welcoming front desk attendant gave a brief overview of the property as she checked me in. I was on my way to my room in no time.

GUEST QUARTERS: My deluxe classic suite on the second floor overlooked Burton Way. I kept the balcony doors locked and curtains shut most of my stay, as my room was directly above the outdoor patio seating of the property’s Costa Covo Osteria. The suite featured a king bed, desk, sitting area, walk-through dressing room with vanity and spacious bathroom. The room décor boasted soft neutrals of cream, beige and gray. Befitting a Beverly Hills hotel, the walk-through dressing area featured a vanity with a large illuminated mirror. Directly next to the vanity, a full-length lighted mirror with three adjustable panels offered an excellent space for trying on clothes. The spacious closet/dressing area opened to the bathroom, which featured a separate bathtub and shower, cozy robes, a double sink and Diptyque products.

Many facets of the room felt intuitive — the L-shaped couch featured a built-in table on the end by the outlet, perfect for keeping items while charging. A storage ottoman at the end of the bed also served as a convenient spot for putting on shoes. I felt like I kept discovering new features throughout my stay.

SERVICES/AMENITIES: Since it was a short visit, I unfortunately did not have enough time to experience all of the services available at L’Ermitage. I enjoyed drinks at Costa Covo Osteria with some colleagues prior to our off-site dinner the first night of our stay. While we all opted for wine, the cocktail selection was very tempting!

The first morning of my stay, I opted for room service so I could catch up on work from the comfort of my room ahead of our event. I ordered eggs with bacon, potatoes, toast, a side of avocado and a pot of coffee. The cart arrived with a sprig of pine and holly — a festive and homey touch during the December visit. It was the perfect leisurely start to a busy day. The GT Tested Reader Survey awards took place on the hotel’s rooftop, offering beautiful views of Los Angeles. Afterward, our group visited Costa Covo Osteria to enjoy shared plates and toast a successful awards event.

TOP TAKEAWAYS:

  • L’Ermitage Beverly Hills’ location and layout offer privacy for a relaxing stay.
  • Costa Covo Osteria is the perfect spot for a glass of wine, cup of coffee, quick bite or leisurely meal.
  • My colleague raved about her treatment at Joanna Czech Studio. Be sure to book a treatment during your visit.
