China Airlines recently announced Airbus has been contracted to retrofit 15 of its aircraft with the all-new Airbus A350 cabin, slated to launch in 2027. These new cabins will feature the same aesthetic of the current cabins.
Passengers can expect integrated literary and cultural elements with China Airlines’ persimmon wood-grain finish and contrasting metallic textures. The elegance of Taiwan in these details will be complemented by ambient lighting.
In the redesign of these cabins, China Airlines will take existing fleet planning, traveler feedback, industry developments and craft aesthetics into account, applying these factors to the in-flight entertainment system, onboard network and cabin environment. The retrofit will apply to all classes, including premium business class, premium economy class and economy class.
China Airlines’ current A350 layout features these three cabin classes for a total of 206 seats, with 32 in business, 31 in premium economy and 243 in economy. The all-new aircraft is expected to enter service in 2027, with all 15 aircraft set to be completed by 2028.
Currently, China Airlines’ A350 aircraft serves global destinations like London (LHR), Los Angeles (LAX), Singapore (SIN), Seattle (SEA) and Frankfurt (FRA), among others.
