Because it is officially summer, I would like to tell you about one of my favorite places to visit during this season: Ocean City, Md. I traveled there each summer for the past three years, and every time I visit, I love it more and more.

As a Midwesterner, the concept of crab feasts and beaches on the ocean (not a lake) were completely foreign to me. My boyfriend, born and raised in Maryland, is completely obsessed with all things that represent the state — he wears their flag on any sort of clothing he can find — and was determined to take me there as soon as possible.

Since I started visiting, I experienced all the city offers, my favorite being the crab feasts. This summer, we visited our favorite restaurant called Crab Bag and enjoyed unlimited medium and large hard-shell crabs (more like large and extra-large) and corn for $26 per person. We really got our money’s worth, as we ate a couple dozen. Scroll down to see a picture from our feast this year on Memorial Day weekend — a before and after! I would recommend visiting Crab Bag over many other crab joints in town.

We also made sure to visit Fractured Prune, a Maryland staple, for donuts each morning. Fractured Prune sells made-to-order donuts of all different kinds — my favorite are the carnival (glazed donuts with rainbow sprinkles) and the banana glazed with chocolate sprinkles.

While there, we go crabbing (and are unsuccessful every time) and lie by the beach. Ocean City hosts a great nightlife scene. Visit Seacrets or Mackys. It is a wonderful place to go for relaxation and a lot of fun. I recommend visiting this summer!
