U.S. News & World Report, best known for its news, rankings and analyses, released its annual ranking of the top 50 U.S. hotels. Every year, U.S. News & World Report ranks U.S. hotels based on an analysis of traveler reviews and expert opinions, as well as the company’s in-destination editors and writers.
So, which U.S. hotels came out on top for 2024?
Ranking as No. 1 Best Hotel in the USA for 2024 is 5-star Acqualina Resort & Residences in Miami, Florida. Complete with a 20,000-square-foot spa, adults-only pool with butler service, four restaurants, and chic guestrooms and suites, this property offers the perfect space to relax.
Another Florida hotel follows behind in second. Four Seasons Hotel at The Surf Club in Surfside, Florida, boasts a lengthy and glamorous history, with guests like Elizabeth Taylor and Frank Sinatra visiting this seaside hotel. The elegant property is home to Champagne Bar, Lido Restaurant, a spa, two outdoor pools, a fitness center and more. History and modern amenities combine for the ultimate luxurious stay.
Two Chicago hotels fill in the third and fourth spots. The Langham, Chicago received high marks thanks to its upscale guestrooms and suites with floor-to-ceiling windows and views of Chicago’s skyscrapers. Each guestroom boasts a marble bathroom with rain shower, stocked bar and desk. Guests of the hotel enjoy access to a spa, indoor pool, on-site cinema suite and more.
At No. 4, The Peninsula Chicago exudes luxury with a rooftop lounge, three restaurants, plenty of meeting space, a two-story spa and an indoor pool. Guestrooms and suites are decked out with plush seating areas and beds, neutral colors, and tablet technology to control lighting and temperature.
Rounding out the top five best U.S. hotels of 2024, Montage Laguna Beach in California wins the hearts of travelers thanks to its coastal vibes found in all guestrooms, suites and villas. In the center of the property, guests can find the unique Mosaic Pool, while the on-site spa and options to book adventures on the nearby beach await to fill guests’ days. The hotel also includes several dining outlets, as well as a lobby lounge with live entertainment.
Other U.S. hotels making the rankings include Mauna Lani, Auberge Resorts Collection in Hawai’i; The Jefferson, Washington, D.C.; Mandarin Oriental, Boston; Hotel Emma in San Antonio, Texas; The Little Nell in Aspen, Colorado; The Charleston Place, South Carolina; The Pierre, a Taj Hotel, New York; Twin Farms, Vermont; Four Seasons Hotel Las Vegas; Four Seasons Hotel Atlanta; Ponte Vedra Inn & Club, Florida; and The Ritz-Carlton, San Francisco.
To be considered for U.S. News & World Report’s rankings, hotels must consistently receive a 4-, 4.5- or 5-star hotel class rating; offer at least 20 guestrooms; and not be categorized as apartments, vacation rentals, cabins or other “niche property types.”

May 23, 2025Relax, Rejuvenate and Heal at StolenTime
At the namesake luxury, 5-star all-inclusive resort in Saint Lucia, the concept of “stolen time” used to be reserved for couples escaping to canoodle, reconnect and perhaps rekindle in sumptuous accommodations during a romantic getaway on the lush Caribbean island. But when StolenTime by Rendezvous rebranded in late 2022 to welcome all adult guests and focus more on wellness, the philosophy expanded to encompass self-reflection, personal growth and enrichment. After all, time is our most precious commodity, one that’s finite and too quickly slips through our grasp; we need to find those moments that matter and make them count.
