When a New Year rolls around, so does the “new year, new me” mentality. While most individuals set resolutions and swear they are going to stick to them, many end up dropping them halfway through January. This year, stick to your resolutions by following these helpful tips.

Starting off slowly could be helpful. Begin with a few small, realistic resolutions. If one of your resolutions is to work out more, start by going to the gym or doing at-home workouts two or three days a week. Once you get in the swing of things you can add to your goal.

If you are nervous about not sticking to your resolutions, try finding a buddy with the same or similar resolutions. Having another person involved can help keep each other accountable and motivated. You can also brainstorm creative ways to make your resolutions more exciting so you won’t get bored and break them.

Another way to make sure you stick to your resolutions is to reward yourself at the end of each week or month. If you set a reward system, it will give you something to look forward to and push you to continue.
