Hilton Hotels and Resorts continues to expand in Tunisia with a new agreement with Groupe Alliance, ensuring the placement of a flagship property in the Tunis suburbs.
The property is set for the former Le Palace Hotel, which will undergo a rebrand and renovation. The new hotel is expected to reopen in 2023 as Hilton Tunis Gammarth. The renovation, which will begin next year, is taking place in phases and will see the refurbishment of all guestrooms, suites and public spaces.
Once the renovation is complete, the hotel will have 296 guestrooms, 25 suites, seven food and beverage venues and an abundance of meeting space.
“This is a hotel we have been interested in for some time and we are delighted to have found the right partner, with the Groupe Alliance. We are very confident in their ability to take the project forward and bring Hilton back to the Tunisian market in style,” said Carlos Khneisser, vice president, development, Hilton MENA.
Groupe Alliance officials said the brand is excited to begin working with Hilton.
Hilton recently returned to the region with the opening of Hilton Rabat in Morocco. Throughout North Africa, Hilton operates 35 properties. Hilton boasts more than 5,100 hotels across the globe.
